Ffresh Film Festival
The Ffresh Film Festival is held every year in Aberystwyth. The Festival is primarily for students, calling itself the 'The Student Moving Image Festival of Wales'
Each year students are invited to enter their work into a number of categories. All entries are viewed and shortlists compiled, A shortlisted entry from each category then goes onto win the respective award. The awards are presented in a mini oscar style ceremony in the 'Great Hall'

Animation Award
During 2003 I attended the Ffresh festival as a 2nd year student from Swansea Institute of HE. The festival inspired me to create a final film for my degree good enough to at least get nominated for the animation award, with the hope of winning.
Well a year down the line and Ive got what I was aiming for. Not only was my film The Sweet Smell of Success one of six shortlisted entries from a total of 46 but I eventually went on to win the award!! I was ecstatic to win the award and its given me a great confidence boost (especially being against a good high of work) and an added motivation to get into the industry.
